- Carry out risk & control assessments to understand risk level, significance and scope.
- Conduct Self Audits throughout the business, across all levels and departments and ensure that remediation items are closed on time. Assist in leading audits (group internal audits, financial audits & regulatory audits).
- Ensure familiarity and understanding of relevant laws and regulations and contribute to robust and effective compliance controls within the organisation.
- Lead organisation through Deposit Return Scheme Scotland registration by identifying requirements, risks, commitments and financial exposure.
- Review, update and test business continuity plans for office, distribution centre and factory locations.
- First line review of all business commercial contracts before escalation to Group Legal for approval.
- Investigate incidents and non-compliance issues.
- Highlight or escalate areas of concern to Chief Financial Officer.
- Act as the Data Privacy Officer and be up to date with current data protection laws.
- Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of embedded risk and compliance.
- Review marketing materials, presentations and websites to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist CFO with insurance renewals, maintaining business trademarks and license management.
